Uniserv, the Pforzheim specialist for address management software, now also offers its Portuguese postal validation system for UNIX and Windows NT/Windows 2000. Until now the product was only available for mainframe. With this product launch, Uniserv is expanding its product offering – based on a tremendous platform variety – with an additional country-specific version. Like all other systems of the product group OPEN.edition (software components for integrating into existing or planned applications within open systems), post for Portugal is also Internet-capable and can be used e.g. in the context of e-commerce applications. At the same time the Pforzheim software company is consequentially continuing its pan-European solution strategy with the new post variant.

For postal address validation in the Portuguese variant, official post office data is available. Hence, post for Portugal supports four and seven digit postal codes and the seven-digit postal codes for Lisbon. In addition, the data includes a street directory for twelve large cities and a complete index of postal codes. Regular table updates ensure the up-to-dateness of the existing data.
