Deutsche Post Direkt cooperates with the software house Uniserv
Deutsche Post Direkt is expanding its offering and cooperating with Uniserv GmbH, Pforzheim. With its Addressfactory, the subsidiary company of Deutsche Post already offers different options for how companies can update their own customer addresses, both online and via data carriers. From 2002 on, Addressfactory System will be offered, which can be installed directly at the company. Deutsche Post Direkt and the software house Uniserv are thus responding to the wish of large companies and concerns that want to continually maintain their address files in-house.
Addressfactory System is a universal address server, consisting of a data component and a software component. Deutsche Post Direkt provides the data, while Uniserv is responsible for the software. The system runs completely in the IT environment of the customer. Deutsche Post Direkt updates the data regularly. In this way, if desired, the addresses of the customer files can automatically be brought up to date. Through its comprehensive and flexible software architecture, the system can be easily integrated into all generally used data processing environments used by customers.
The basis of Addressfactory is the postal reference file with about 95 million consumer addresses, including former and current addresses. In this way misspelled names can be corrected, and errors in the street name, postal code and city can be prevented. Deutsche Post Direkt fulfills the requirements of data protection in that the Addressfactory System installed at the customer's contains only encrypted data. Companies can compare addresses only from their own files with the postal reference file. They do not have access to any other addresses.
