Easy and flexible integration of solutions for data quality inside and outside Business Address Services (BAS) into various scenarios

Pforzheim, March 2007. Uniserv GmbH, a leading data quality provider and SAP® software partner with its headquarters in Pforzheim, has carried out an extensive redesign of its data quality products post for mySAP™ Business Suite (Postal Address Check) and mail for mySAP™ Business Suite (duplicate check and error-tolerant search) in conjunction with its long-standing technology and development partner, paricon, the SAP® partner from Rosenheim. Thanks to their innovative layer architecture, both solutions can be now quickly, easily and flexibly integrated both inside and outside the Business Address Services (BAS). BAS represents the central link for the integration of data quality software in mySAP^TM Business Suite™ Suite. Thus e.g. integration in in-house developed applications and add-ons under various user interfaces such as IC Webclient, Web-GUI and PC UI is now also possible. In particular, the web integration ensures mobile use independent of location. After the initial certification in 2002, SAP® recertified the integration at the end of 2006, thereby confirming that it complies with SAP® standards and requirements. The certified integration is available from SAP® R/3® Release 4.6 C, mySAP™ ERP, mySAP™ CRM Release 4.0 as well as SAP NetWeaver™ Application Server Release 6.10 and has also already been implemented for various industry-specific solutions such as IS-M and IS-U.

In addition to the loose coupling with the BAS and the decoupling of the GUI functions for the support of web applications, the redesign provides a large number of advantages for the users of the two internationally usable, integrated dialog components result. Thus, the guiding principle "Customizing instead of programming, user exits instead of modifications" applies in conjunction with the implementation of 100% Unicode capability in applications and data. The products are provided with uniform and simplified maintenance as well as extensive options for individual expansion and integration. In particular, users with large address databases benefit from the parallelisation of process flows and the possibilities for optimizing the performance.

With the Batch Cleansing System (BCS), Uniserv offers a batch workbench in addition to the dialog components. By this means, typical tasks for securing data quality in the SAP® solution environment, such as the integration of address data or data cleansing, can be carried out sequentially with high efficiency via appropriate back-end address management servers. BCS can be used on the SAP® side from SAP® R/3® Release 4.6 C, mySAP™ ERP and mySAP™ CRM Release 4.0 and is also available for e.g. industry-specific solutions such as IS-M and IS-U.
