Uniserv and Sand Technology become OEM partners
Pforzheim, 25th October 2011 +++ Uniserv GmbH, the largest pure-play provider of Data Quality Solutions in Europe with its headquarters in Pforzheim (www.uniserv.com) and Sand Technology Inc., the market leader in column-oriented data base software (www.sand.com), have entered into an OEM partnership. Uniserv will now integrate the advanced column-oriented database technology from Sand in its Data Management products. Uniserv will initially use the technology in the Data Quality Explorer, the new product for data profiling. The DQ Explorer can be used to assess company data interactively and reliably and fully identify problems or incorrect data. "Thanks to the Sand technology, our customers can carry out the most complex data analyses interactively in a very short time - also in the case of databases which contain several million data records“, says Wilfried Eickholz, head of product management at Uniserv. "With the high-performance DQ Explorer, we have now implemented another important component for the comprehensive data management concept of Uniserv, the Data Quality Service Hub.“
The database technology from Sand enables more and more reports on increasingly larger data volumes to be generated in an ever shorter time, particularly in the area of Business Intelligence. Sand uses innovative basic approaches to data storage for this purpose; instead of searching through all the entries in the database line-by-line, specific attributes are searched for column-by-column. As a result, it becomes possible to select and display any desired characteristics from a database with a few clicks. Wilfried Eickholz describes the use of this technology for data profiling: "Through integration of the column-oriented database technology in our Data Quality Explorer, our users can interactively assess the contents and the quality of large databases flexibly and dynamically. They are therefore able to plan their data migration, data integration or data synchronisation projects realistically and carry them out successfully."
