A diagram is worth a thousand words - visualising processing results
Data quality projects do not take place in isolation and are not an end in themselves. They have internal or external customers. Users of business applications profit from the results or have to be persuaded that appropriate steps for designing processes can be derived from them. Project teams rely on the results.
In every case, the results of a
DQ Batch Suite processing operation have to be communicated. Graphical presentations are a very effective way of communicating such results.
DQ Function reporting
The reporting function of the DQ Batch Suite enables statistical evaluations of the results of a processing operation to be defined. These can either be presented in text form or as spreadsheets and diagrams in Excel. However, they can also be output as a file, either in the CSV or XML format, and then be further processed with other tools.
The data quality functions offered by Uniserv provide result labels and result classes, which are suitable as criteria for the generation of a data quality report. Furthermore, the script function can be used to create customized validation rules, which in turn can be presented in a report. The complete definition of the reports is accomplished in the graphical user interface of the DQ Batch Suite and is stored together with the processing definition. The reports defined in the context of the processing operation are automatically generated each time a processing operation is executed and are then made available together with the processing results.
As an integrated function of the DQ Batch Suite, reporting provides the means required to present the obtained results graphically and comprehensibly as well as an extensive range of functions for the validation and correction of data.
