bank is a client/server component for finding  banks or their branches. In addition, bank connections and credit card numbers can be checked. The system is a standard solution which, due to a comprehensive and flexible software architecture, can be easily integrated into all generally used data processing environments.

In checking bank connections, two kinds of searches are differentiated:

1. Searching for a bank or a bank code number
2. Validating account numbers to banks

The search for a bank can only be initiated with the name of the bank or with the bank code number or both together. In any case, the objective is to deliver the right bank connection. Since the user generally does not make entries according to the norms of the German Bundesbank, similar bank connections are also displayed. The threshold beyond which a bank connection is recognized as similar can be adjusted. This pertains not only to the main banks but also the branch banks. The search can be extended by adding so-called wildcards (* and ?) which symbolize an arbitrary number of characters or symbolize exactly one character.
