Code: EBCDIC or ASCII
Field division: any fixed record structure can be processed directly
Block length: maximum 32 KB
Storage form: standard sequential file (SAM)
Please do not use system-specific diskcopies such as BACKUP, FDUMP, etc.
For Siemens BS2000 systems: do not use STD as BLKSIZE for fixed records, but enter a value (multiple of the record length)

Disk:
- 3.5 inch
Streamer:
- 1/4 inch cartridge with a capacity ranging from 125 MB to 2.5 GB.
- 8 mm data cartridge with a capacity up to 2.5 GB. (non-compressed)
- 8 mm data cartridge with a capacity up to 5.0 GB. (compressed)
- 4 mm data cartridge DDS 2 or DDS 3 in TAR format
AS/400:
- 2.5 GB cartridge 1,200 ft
CD-ROM/DVD-ROM:
File names according to ISO 9660 standard/Joliet/UDF
Format:
- Standard ASCII files:
- with fixed record length
- or in Dbase format
- or in delimiter format
Compression: if possible as self-extracting file (exe) or as zip file
