Christmas donations as a sign of climate and species protection, social participation and prevention

The year 2023 is gradually drawing to a close. Many people need attention and support to look forward to the coming year 2024 as strongly and confidently as we do. That's why Uniserv is once again donating regionally and nationally this year for social participation, climate and species protection and prevention. The focus is on continuity in assuming social responsibility, which opens up prospects for a future worth living in all its facets.

Children's hospital Schömberg

Despite all the uncertainties, Uniserv can also look forward to a successful financial year in 2023. As in previous years, Uniserv's management is therefore once again supporting various regional and national institutions in their initiatives and projects.

As in previous years, a donation will be made to the children's hospital in Schömberg. As a specialist neurological hospital, this facility treats infants, children, adolescents and young adults with a wide range of neurological problems. Thanks to the personal connection of one of our employees, we know first-hand what special work the children's clinic in Schömberg does. As hospital stays can be very emotionally stressful and anxiety-inducing for young patients, this year's donation will benefit the 'Clinic Clowns' project. The professional actors, who specialize in children, provide a playful and fun distraction with their clown visits. This joy strengthens and supports the healing process. Because humor helps healing.

Sperlingshof in Remchingen

Uniserv has had a friendly relationship with Sperlingshof in Remchingen for many years. The curative education center for children and young people offers 58 children and young people help and support on their way to an independent and self-determined life. With this year's donation, Uniserv is contributing to the continuation of therapeutic help for two traumatized children. In addition, donations in kind from our IT equipment at Sperlingshof are always put to good use.

It is a matter close to our hearts to give children in particular, who for various reasons do not have ideal conditions or have to fight against adversity and traumatization, a good start in life and thus create more equal opportunities.

Prevention at primary schools

Another project close to our hearts that Uniserv has also supported for many years is the Aktionkinderschutz e.V. book project. The work of this association focuses on prevention in elementary school, against abuse and violence, for the education and empowerment of children as the weakest members of society, who are usually at the mercy of sexualized violence in particular, without protection and helpless. The aim is to give children the best possible basis for self-protection and development. This is what the book project in particular stands for.

Moor protection by NABU

The tasks and challenges in climate and species protection are particularly great. It is often forgotten that nature and the environment need our attention more than ever, as they form the basis of our existence. Peatlands in particular are habitats for many animal and plant species and carbon reservoirs within terrestrial ecosystems. Peat extraction, drainage and long periods of drought as well as global warming are reducing these areas more and more quickly, with dramatic consequences for flora, fauna and the climate, for example through the release of large quantities of climate-damaging gases when moorland is destroyed. With our donation to NABU's moorland protection project, we are consciously setting an example here.

Climate protection is particularly important to me: when moors are destroyed, they release large quantities of climate-damaging gases. Many species that are already threatened with extinction disappear completely. In this respect, moorland protection is a valuable project for the future.
